How many challenges could one Chevy provide for Clewiston Diesel School?

Everton Griffiths Diesel Tech Student

Everton Griffiths is a student at Hendry County Workforce’s Diesel Tech program. He brought in a completely dead truck with many mechanical issues so that the class would have a challenge.  And the challenge was epic. They took nearly every part of this 1997 Chevy apart and put it back together.  Some of the parts were even rusted together. Students repaired the fuel system & tank, flywheel, starter, brake system, u-joint, spark plugs, water pump, and alternator under the supervision and insightful commentary of master mechanic and instructor Albert Williams.

There were many profound aha moments of hands-on learning as this project came roaring back to life. And the jubilation of the students was moving.  They had resurrected this truck together, bonded as a cohort, and learned much in the process.
