ABOUT PROGRAM
7:30 am - 11:30 pm (Adult Class)
12:30 pm - 3:30 pm (Dual Enrollment)
Our welding program provides rigorous content designed to teach you how to weld. It provides hands-on, technical training, and certification opportunities. A weld is defined by the American Welding Society (AWS) as “a localized coalescence (the fusion or growing together of the grain structure of the materials being welded) of metals or nonmetals produced either by heating the materials to the required welding temperatures, with or without the application of pressure, or by the application of pressure alone, and with or without the use of filler materials.”

Welding Instructor
Stephen Atkins

Steven Atkins began his welding career in 2013 by attending Lively Technical College in Tallahassee, Florida. He continued on to work as a professional welder and metal fabricator across a variety of industries. These industries include structural steel, aerospace, manufacturing, and architectural aluminum. Eventually wanting more out of his career he proceeded to obtain his credentials as a Certified Welding Inspector and most recently has accepted the position as the sole welding instructor here at the Labelle Adult School. His passion for welding and for helping educate the next generation of welders is apparent. His goal is to continually improve not only as a welder but as a purveyor of knowledge and a facilitator of success for his students.
